SKY
At Andaz Munich Schwabinger Tor, the first Andaz hotel in Germany, a permanent site-specific installation was developed for the lobby.
Four structural columns were transformed into 10-meter-high video surfaces, turning the architecture into a living canvas. Over the course of a year, the Munich sky was captured in ultra-high-resolution time-lapse from the hotel’s rooftop, recording its shifting clouds, changing light, and subtle variations of color.
The installation creates a hyper-realistic window into the sky, echoing the tones of the Bavarian flag while grounding the space in the identity of the city. As guests enter the lobby, the work introduces a continuous atmospheric presence that connects the interior to the sky above Munich.
