"Tunnel of Sentient Light is an AI-driven light installation exploring the relationship between emotion, perception, and space. Developed in collaboration with Feno Lights, the work translates human emotion into a responsive spatial environment.
The installation is situated within the headquarters of Feno Lights, in direct dialogue with a permanent glass work by James Turrell installed in the lobby. Positioned along the passage leading from the lobby into the building’s interior, the tunnel extends the perceptual experience of light into a responsive, time-based system.
Using a brainwave sensor connected to a custom neural network, the work captures and interprets the emotional state of the observer in real time. Each detected emotion, such as joy, melancholy, or tension, is translated into a distinct color spectrum, transforming the tunnel into a dynamic reflection of the viewer’s inner condition.
Initially activated by the artist, the system is opened to visitors, who can wear the sensor themselves, allowing their emotional states to reshape the space in real time.
