Gefühlsrauschen (Emotional Resonance) is an AI-driven audiovisual installation that translates emotional states into a shared composition of sound and light. It functions as both artwork and live experiment, connecting human presence with technological interpretation, inner emotion with collective experience, asking whether technology can make inner states perceptible and turn individual feeling into shared spatial presence.
Three participants sit in a half circle, connected by brainwave sensors. Their neural activity is interpreted in real time and transformed into a living trio of piano, strings, and cello. Each person carries a distinct voice. Together, a shifting composition emerges, shaped entirely by feeling.
As emotions align, the sound settles into harmony. As they drift apart, it becomes unstable, textured, unresolved. What is usually sensed only subtly between people becomes perceptible in space.
At the center, a vertical light sculpture reflects these inner states. Color and intensity shift with each participant, creating a shared visual field of emotion.
The work unfolds as a feedback loop. Participants hear what they feel and begin to feel what they hear. A temporary collective presence forms, without language, held between bodies, sound, and light.
