When emotion becomes music — and presence becomes light.
Three people sit together in a half-circle—connected by brainwave sensors that capture the activity of their inner lives in real time. A custom-developed AI system interprets these neural patterns as emotional states: melancholy, joy, discomfort, fear, calm —and that calm, neutral center where everything comes to rest. Each emotion is translated into sound. Each person becomes an instrument—piano, strings, or cello. Together, they generate a living, wordless composition: a trio without sheet music, without instruments—composed entirely of feeling.
At the center of the group, a vertical light sculpture reacts in real time. Its color and intensity shift with the participants’ emotional states—creating a shared visual echo of their inner worlds. One sculpture, three minds, constantly evolving. The space itself becomes a resonant body. It invites listening, observing, and becoming part of a shared, inner rhythm.
Gefühlsrauschen creates a moment of connection—between people and technology, between inside and outside. Presented at the NUE Digital Festival, the work asks:
Can technology help us hear what we feel?
Can it create spaces where emotion becomes visible, audible—and shared in real time?
